With all the buzz surrounding the London 2012 Olympics, I thought that I would do a little post to get into the spirit of the games.
I'm officially on vacation starting today (yeah, yeah, yeah), and I'm really looking forward to checking out the Olympic games this weekend from the comfort of my sofa in East Hampton. Which sport will I be watching? Track and field. I ran the 200, 400 and 800m's in high school. I was minutes away from state and national titles, which translates into "I wasn't very fast." But my coach said that I had a very beautiful stride, and, I made a ton of great friends while competing. Back to the Olympics. Another MAJOR reason that I will be tuning in is because fellow Jamaican Usain Bolt will be defending his 200m title as well as competing in the 100m individual and 4 x 100 relay. It's going to be spectacular as Bolt is competing against teammate and sprint rival Yohan Blake. Records are expected to be broken. I can already see the sea of Jamaican flags flying in the bleachers. Swoon!
Are you following the Olympics? Rooting for anyone in particular? What sports do you play?
My Olympic inspired outfit: Opening Ceremony blouse, Glamour Magazine for Opening Ceremony jumper, Miu Miu skirt, NikeiD LunarGlide trainers, and Celine sunglasses.
CONTINUED LUCK TO ALL ATHLETES!

Awesome picture! Love it!

Fantastic shot!
ReplyDeletelove the look, I'm always amazed when I see pictures of jump shots, its very creative.
ReplyDeleteI knew you were a runner! I looked at your legs and said "She must have done track at some point in her life!" I, myself, ran the 100 and 200 meter races and sprint relays, of course. I absolutely hated training, but had so much fun during competition. Now, for your outfit... it's super cute! I really like the top and how nearly the entire outfit is neutral sans the pop of colour from your kicks.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

Wow! I am absolutely loving the Olympics!
ReplyDeleteFor starters I live just outside of London (I'm going to see handball and visit the Olympic park tomorrow!) and I love how sport brings everyone together, and seeing such passion from all nations.
Brilliant to see you jumping for joy in that snap!
To share the thematics of the 2012 London Games, I think it’s worth to look at the big picture of the games so far. This is really more to complement your post,, but today I happened to be reading the National Post and found a pretty interesting article that takes a look at the high and low points of the games so far. I personally found it a pretty interesting read and if you’re up for it, I think it’s really worth a glance: http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/showlink.aspx?bookmarkid=NTHCORI48A51&preview=article&linkid=f7363fcc-72e9-4332-8b2a-f577514ffd45&pdaffid=ZVFwBG5jk4Kvl9OaBJc5%2bg%3d%3d
